Description
These King Alfred (AELFREDRE) the Great, silver penny cufflinks have survived with remarkable detail. They were minted between 871 and 899 AD and these have been mounted to show the monogram of London (LVNDONIA), struck on the reverse of the coin. The head of the coin appears on the reverse of the cufflink, fitted with a swivel fitting for ease of use. Cufflinks are available showing the head on the front, order no. HJR 460a. They are also available by special order in 9ct and 18ct gold.
