S’Motif Bracelet

Description

The silver original forms a long collar or necklet. It was traditionally thought to be 16th century English but may in fact be Scandinavian of a later date. Many portraits of noblemen are shown wearing a chain made up of ‘S’ links. Victoria and Albert Museum, London. Length 180mm
